I agree with that other directories have suffered from neglect and spam. Obviously you plan to focus on the wiki directory and not neglect it, but how do plan on filtering out spam? What are the criteria for a link to make it on to Mahalo? Will some criteria remain on a case by case basis since content is written differently for specific topics?

Only a directory!?!? About.com and DMOZ–which have both been destroyed by corporate neglect for the past couple of years–were very helpful in their day. If we were just a great directory that would be helpful today since DMOZ has a lot of spam/noise, and About.com… well, it’s a mess.

However, we are much more than just a directory. Users can impact our results, create them, suggest links, and debate them. That’s something you can’t do anywhere else.

Of course, we are only 5-10% of the way to a fullproduct… so keep checking Mahalo out every 2 months and i think the vision will impress you.
