I found this entry because it just occurred to me that my excessive procrastination might be due to the fact that I visualize far too much all the dreaded tasks I have to do. For example now, I have one day to clean the apartment I have to move out from but instead I'm reading about procrastination on the internet which is just another way of procrastinating in addition to watching a TV show, like I've been doing for the last couple of hours. The problem is though that I must have spent like several hours in total, most in the last week, but some stretching up to a year back in time where I have imagined all the (not really) big amount of work I'll have to do. I know pretty much exactly what I have to to since I've imagined it so many times and this makes me feel almost like doing it for real is doing it one too many times since I've already experienced it. I don't know, I'm really a pathological procrastinator but I do wonder if over visualizing the task might be one of the reasons why people procrastinate.

Well, I suppose I find time to think about things - not necessarily the things you list, but just things in general - the same way everyone else does. I think about stuff when I'm on a train, falling asleep, in the shower, or just mooching about. I miss commute time sometimes, as it used to be time to think... but on the other hand I used to get very tired from a long day and a long commute so sometimes it was just time to vegetate.

I'd love more time to consider things, true, but I seem to do ok at ordering my thoughts here.

It is simple to jot down 3-5 things that have to be done the next day. Where do you find the time or the space to consider things like "The War", Politics, Marriage, Resposibility, Definitions (like= friends vs. acquaintences, The "American Way, values, etc.) There is a difference between "to do" and "to consider" or "to think about"!
