Your description of your trip and the distributed journalism network you created and tapped into, I think, challenges a lot of the old assumption about what reporting is all about. The open source elements you describe make me hopeful that journalism can move from a competitive to a collaborative model--one where journalists are working with one another and with the public to create meaningful conversations. Reminds me of Charlie Beckett's notion of SuperMedia. This is a great help to me!</description>
